Biography

Allen was a clothier who several times went to London on town business, apart from his attendance at Parliament. He may have had some connexion with the Seymours, for in 1549 he sold land to the Duke of Somerset’s steward, John Berwick, whom he succeeded as customer of Bristol. He died probably in 1574, and certainly before the second session of Parliament.
