Biography

Robert Murray, a professional soldier, was younger brother of John, 2nd Earl of Dunmore, a representative peer and lord of the bedchamber to George II. He was returned as a government supporter at Wootton Bassett in 1722, did not stand in 1727, but was later returned for Great Bedwyn. He died 25 Mar. 1738.
