Biography

Goddard belonged to an old Wiltshire gentry family, and a kinsman of his had represented the county in the Parliament of 1722. He himself was returned unopposed for Wiltshire in 1767 and 1768. All his reported votes were with Opposition. There is no record of his having spoken in the House. He died 12 Aug. 1770.
