Biography
At the general election of 1754 Penton was returned unopposed at Winchester, and was classed by Dupplin as a Government supporter. In 1761 he retired in favour of his son, and also obtained permission to resign to him the sinecure of King’s letter carrier.
Penton died 1 Sept. 1762.
