Biography

Master was re-elected unopposed for Gloucestershire on the Duke of Beaufort’s interest in 1790. He apparently continued to support government. He was considered hostile to the repeal of the Test Act in Scotland in 1791, and was marked ‘pro’ in the ministerial survey drawn up for the general election of 1796, when he retired from Parliament. The only occasion on which he is known to have addressed the House was when he reported the findings of the Ludgershall election committee, 15 Apr. 1791. He died 12 May 1823.
