1st s. of James Craufurd by his w. Elizabeth Andrews of Rotterdam. James Craufurd was the s. of Patrick Craufurd of Drumsoy, and bro. of Patrick Craufurd of Auchenames and Col. John Craufurd.  Kntd. 2 May 1777.

Conservator of Scots privileges in Holland from 1760.1


Craufurd, like his father, was a merchant in Holland. At the general election of 1780 he successfully contested Arundel, a venal borough, but was unseated for bribery.

He died 24 Jan. 1782.
