Biography

Before 1751 Montagu belonged to the party of the Prince of Wales. He sat for Northampton on the interest of his cousin, the 2nd Earl of Halifax. Included by Dupplin among the supporters of Administration after the general election of 1754, he yet voted against the Address on 13 Nov. 1755.

He died 29 May 1759.
