Parliamentary lists

1514. A list of constituencies drawn up in connexion with the issue of writs de expensis following the dissolution of the Parliament of 1512 with an estimate of the sums due to the borough Members. This list was used again in 1523. At some later stage several of the passages that had faded were rewritten, and perhaps for this reason there are inaccuracies in the dates and estimates. Stowe 501, ff. 129-31.

1532. A copy of the Crown Office list for the Parliament of 1529 annotated to show changes in the Membership up to the summer of 1532. SP1/56, ff. 2-10.

1534. A list of the names of 50 Members written on the back of a letter dated December 1534, and thought to have a particular but indeterminate connexion with the treasons bill. SP1/87, f. 106v. (Appendix VIII)

1536. A list of nominees for the boroughs owned by the bishop of Winchester, placed between the French and English versions of the will of Catherine of Aragon. Cott. Otho C10, f.218. (Appendix IX)

1551/52. An annotated copy of the Crown Office list for the Parliament of 1547 in use for the last session (1552) of the Parliament. This list continued in use after the dissolution, perhaps in connexion with the summoning of the Parliament of March 1553. Hatfield 207. (Appendix X)

OCTOBER 1553. A copy of the Crown Office list for the Parliament of October 1553, in use for the first session of the Parliament. The names of ‘they which stood for the true religion are signed thus †’. Bodl. e Museo 17. (Appendix XI)

APRIL/MAY 1554. The Crown Office list for the Parliament of April 1554 with amendments made while the Parliament was in session. C193/32/1.

(See Appendix XIV) Like that for 1551/52 this list continued in use after the dissolution, perhaps in connexion with the summoning of the Parliament of 1559. Wm. Salt Lib. 264.
