Biography

At the parliamentary elections held at Exeter castle in 1410 Bremeler provided securities for the appearance at Westminster of Robert Cary, esquire, one of the knights of the shire for Devon. He may perhaps be identified with the Henry ‘Bremell’ of Dorset who, two years later, went surety in Chancery for Hugh Mercer of Salisbury. Otherwise nothing else is known of him, and it is difficult to understand why such an obscure figure should have been elected to Parliament by two Devonshire boroughs.
