Notes
The first part of his name, along with that of his co-burgess, has been torn from the return: C219/10/5.
- 1. H.T. Weyman’s suggestion (Trans. Salop Arch. Soc. (ser. 4), v. 34-35) that ‘Lange’ is to be identified with John Luyn, said to be a bailiff of Bridgnorth in 1407, is based on Prynne’s misreading of the name Bruyn*. (W. Prynne, Brevia Parliamentaria Rediviva, ii. 263).
