Biography
Boucher, whose father ‘the gamester’1 bought Christian Malford and other estates in Wiltshire from Lord Wharton for £17,070 in 1705,2 is himself described by Le Neve as ‘no gent’.3 Returned as a Tory at a by-election for Chippenham in 1723, he did not stand again. He died Feb. 1772.
